As a photojournalist based out of Salt Lake City, Utah I love combining my passion for storytelling, social issues, outdoor adventure, and international travel. I focus on helping companies and nonprofits bolster their cause marketing and tell stories of impact through imagery and written word. This process connects consumers with the benefits of corporate social responsibility and drive informed purchases, furthering the support of a company's initiatives -whether it's grantmaking, programming, or ethical supply chains. Throughout the process, I strive to portray people and their communities in a dignified light.
With a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism degree and specialization in sociology from Ohio University, I have extensive experience in documentary photography but am capable of all photographic styles including lifestyle, commercial, editorial, portraiture, and event coverage. I'm available for freelance work throughout the world.

"James' multifarious background makes him an asset to any project, but especially those that require a combination of creative mastery, gritty travel experience, and human sensitivity. It's hard to find the kind of jack-of-all and master-of-all trades required to tell cause-marketing stories effectively and humbly. He's capable of telling emotionally challenging stories in ways that communicate both the heart of the matter and the wider context. That's why he's the only storyteller I feel comfortable putting in front of impact partners like refugee groups as well as telling brand stories that together weave mission and product."
